- A week of events between gastronomy, culture, conventions and awards.

Gastronomy, culture, conventions, and awards with the organic olive oil and fish: seven days between the land and the sea, based on an ancient tradition that for centuries has been the connection between populations, cultures and gastronomies. The best organic extra virgin olive oils in the world will be the protagonists of Biol Prize XIII Edition, together with aquaculture and sustainable fishing, from 21 to 27 April, in the suggestive historical coastal centre of Monopoli, in the south of Bari. A full events programme scheduled by Cibi with the support of Bari Chamber of Commerce, the Apulia Region Councillorship for Agriculture and with the patronage of the Ministry of Agricultural Policies , Ifoam and local institutions.
During a week the Municipality of Monopoli will host many promotional events - in particular on fishing and olive oil coming from Adriatic coast of Italy, Croatia and Albania – along a route of locations very suggestive such as the five hundred century-old castle Charles V, the port, San Pietro and Amalfitana churches. Besides the Jury works connected with the different competitions, there is a rich programme of collateral events starting from the conventions with a meeting of the International Observatory on organic olive growing, followed by two other subjects on “Aquaculture between innovation and market: a choice of quality” and “Mediterranean Coastal Communities, Environment and Natural resources”. Foresee also the presentation of the research results of Icea-Coispa on organic sustainable fishing and aquaculture.
On gastronomic side, there will be every day tasting and gastronomic meetings, lunch and dinner, called “The fish Inns” (menu Biolfish served by local restaurant managers) with the addition – from Friday to Sunday – of the organic aperitifs of “The workshops of Biolfish taste”. Also scheduled the organic fairs on wine and olive oil as well as the “The fish in the square”, tasting organized by the fishermen community of Monopoli.
And more!
